Hello there! My name is Bri, and I'd like to welcome you to my crochet blog! I'll share with you what I've made so far, what I'm currently working on, and patterns so you can make what I've made! I picked up crocheting about a month ago to help with my mental health and ADHD. So far this is something I have picked up very quickly according to those that have seen my work. With as much as I have been crocheting, I don't think I'll be putting it down anytime soon! I am also trying to sell some of my items, which you can see from my facebook and instagram linked on my page! With as much as I am making (and it might not be that good lol) I might as well try and sell. You'll be here for that journey as well! I try and crochet every day and even attend a group at my library where I am the only person in their 20s. Even though I may be young compared to the other ladies that attend, they have welcomed me with open arms! I decided to start this blog as something else for me to do and to also help anyone else that struggles with mental health and has found crocheting, or any other craft, that has helped with. I also want to share my progress and see everyone else's! I will also share all my patterns and link any free ones that I've used. I've heard that there are some people who will hide patterns they've found for free and sometimes even charge others for them. Because of this, I wanted to find a way to share all the cool free ones I've found. I decided to start crocheting by walking by the book isle in the grocery store and I saw a Star Wars amigurumi kit. It came with yarn to make Grogu (baby Yoda) and R2D2. It also had a book that you could make other characters. Now, I had no prior knowledge of crocheting before this, and now I know amigurumi is probably not the most beginner friendly way to learn. Especially since I had no way to read the pattern book. I was determined to learn though. I found a video guide on YouTube and was able to start my Grogu that way. Partway through the head of Grogu I decided I wanted to be able to read patterns instead of only relying on videos. So, I spent about 2 hours of just practicing basic stitches. I watched YouTube videos on how to make single crochets, double, crochets, increases, decreases, etc. I grabbed some scrap yarn from my mother-in-law and just went to town on different stitches. Thanks to that, I was able to relook at my little pattern book and finally it made sense to me. It wasn't just jibberish lol. Since I've made a decent about in the month I've been crocheting, I'll share at least one project every time I write a post so as not to make this super long. So, for today I'll start with my first ever project! Which, funny enough is not the Grogu I mentioned earlier. I actually to this day still haven't finished it lol. I instead made this cute goose bag I saw on TikTok. Ironically in this photo I see one of his feet is falling off. Like I said, this was my first project, and I now know how to sew and tie in my ends lol. At some point I plan on making another one of these bags, which will be interesting to see how much better it would come out. Anyway, I hope you guys enjoyed my little story and plan to stick around! Some take aways today:

  • What got you into crochet/sewing/knitting?

  • How long have you been crocheting/sewing/knitting?

  • What was your first project?

Absolutely love this for you!

I haven’t been crocheting for 2 years! And other crafts my whole life (it’s a problem lol) not everything is cheaper if you make it! My first project was a beanie, nice and easy!
