Hello there! Welcome back to the second post of my blog. Today I'm going to go over all the projects I've made so far. I'll be sharing actual pictures in other posts and sharing the patterns when I can!

Before I get to my projects I'd like to talk about my ADHD journey. As you know I picked up crochet to help with my ADHD and mental health. I actually only got diagnosed with ADHD just recently. And so much of how I acted as a child now makes much more sense. I've had this my whole life and thought I was weird for my mind always racing or picking something up and then abandoning it. Hyper focusing on certain things now makes more sense. The need to have background noise while I did homework and sometimes just not being able to focus. There wasn't anything wrong with me like I thought, I just had ADHD. It was normal for me.

When I wanted to pick up a hobby I would keep at it for a week or two and then eventually abandon it. My intent was to make it my hobby, and I'd even buy everything is need for it, but for some reason I'd get bored and eventually abandon it. When I decided to pick up crocheting, I only grabbed that little Star Wars kit. This wasn't something I wanted to abandon like all the other little hobbies I did. Well around this time Joann's was also going out of business so I had to take the opportunity and buy some yarn that way I could make my goose bag and a couple other small things. I was determined to make this hobby stick despite my ADHD tendencies to drop them. As you know, I've clearly stuck with this a lot longer than I normally do. I think it's mainly due to you can't ever get bored of it. There will always be something new to make. The possibilities are endless.

Now there is a downside to that. With all the projects I want to make I have to make sure I don't start to many at the same time. This is a BIG struggle for me. I want the satisfaction of finishing a project right away, and if I start a long project, it's hard to keep at it without that satisfaction. I do give myself some leeway with that though. I also myself to start 2 long projects, typically blankets, while also having one or two short projects. That way I have the ability to switch when I get bored or tired of doing the same thing over and over.

So why am I am rambling on about this? Well maybe you or someone you know also struggles with this. Now this is not a diagnosis! I got professionally diagnosed with ADHD and now know all my little quirks were actually cause of it. This might encourage you to get diagnosed though and maybe it will open your eyes as it has with me!

On to the many projects I've done and started! As you know, the first project I made was the goose bag. I really need to make another one. Everyone who sees it loves that bag and I know if I made it now, it would come out so much better. Funny story with that being my first finished project. I used this fluffy yarn since I wanted it to resemble feathers. Well, little did I know that that type of yarn is very difficult to see your stitches. That was a great learning curve right off the bat of me just learning how to crochet lol. Don't make the same mistake I did, get easy yarn like cotton or acrylic and non-fuzzy.

After that I made a flower bouquet and rose coasters (coming soon on this blog). The flower bouquet was super fun to make, and the rose coasters came out so cute when I finished them. Two of my long projects I've started are the rose bouquet blanket, when you fold it a certain way it looks like a bouquet of roses, and a tapestry blanket. Both of these I know will take a while and I will not be starting any other long projects until they are finished.

For smaller projects I have made a cute little cover up front tie tank. It actually took a lot less time than I expected and I definitely plan to make more in different colors. I made a couple bucket hats which came out so cute. One is a little big on me but that's okay. I made a few scrunchies out of the scrap yarn I had, one of which is a very large size. I made 2 ponchos which are in gorgeous ombre colors, and I can't wait to show you guys those. Those ponchos are probably my favorite to make and my favorite project I've made so far. I want to make so many more. I did 2 baby blankets which came out surprisingly well. I ended up giving one away to a friend who recently had a kid. I also made a hat holder which I'll be showing soon as well.

That's it for today! Hope you're doing well and here's to the weekend!

Today's Questions:

  • How many open projects do you have right now?

  • Favorite thing you've made so far?

  • How long have you worked on a project?
